Abstract

Although many cognitive tasks have been enhanced through the use of artificial intelligence, the integration of this technology across the healthcare landscape has raised specific ethical concerns, such as patient privacy, data security, and decision-making processes influenced by AI. This paper seeks to examine the various ethical issues regarding artificial intelligence in today’s healthcare delivery system, particularly in relation to patients. It addresses essential questions like data protection, the potential for bias in algorithms, the need for clarity in AI decision-making, and the need for improved legal frameworks. By assessing the current implementation of AI in the healthcare sector, the paper highlights risks to patient safety and their agency.
